COVID-19 Testing - FAQ

What is the COVID-19 Test? Who should take it?

The COVID-19 Test is done by applying a nasal swab through the patient’s nose to test secretions. The test will show if you have an active infection and if you are contagious. It is open to anyone with active symptoms or who have come in contact with a possible COVID-19 patient.

What is the testing process?

First, you will have a virtual/telemedicine appointment with the physician. He will discuss your concerns and walk you through the process. Second, you will drive to our office parking lot. The entire test will be administered while sitting in your car. One of our technicians will come to you and administer the test.

How do I get my results?

Results will be available as per typical laboratory processing time - within 48 to 72 hours. One of our staff members will call you to discuss your lab results.

How much will the test cost? What if I am not insured?

The lab costs of COVID-19 testing will be covered by your insurance company. You are responsible for the co-pay and deductible for the office visit.

For uninsured patients, we will have a cash pay option with a prompt-pay price of $250. This covers the COVID-19 evaluation, testing, and all associated lab costs.

What if I have more questions for the doctor after I get my lab results?

You are welcome to set up a separate virtual appointment with the physician if you have more questions.

COVID-19 Antibody Test

The COVID-19 Antibody test is a blood test administered in an office visit which tests if you have developed an immunity to COVID-19. This test is only for those without any COVID-19 symptoms. Call our office at (469)262-5762 to set up your appointment.

Spaced-Out Office Appointments

We schedule all in-person appointments with no wait times and minimal exposure. Please do not miss your scheduled follow up appointment for chronic medical problems. We want to make sure that your health needs are addressed and taken care of before any significant complications occur.

Please know that our office is following all recommended guidance from public health authorities, including best practices for hygiene, infection control, and medical professional team health. Our highest priority is to keep all of our patients and staff as safe as possible. We’ve taken the following actions:

  • We are regularly deep cleaning and sanitizing all surfaces in our office.
  • Every exam room is disinfected between patient visits and all instruments are sterilized or safely discarded.
  • Anti-bacterial hand sanitizer is readily available throughout the office.
  • We are instructing all employees to take precautionary health measures, including frequent hand washing & staying at home when sick.
